Proctored Test
What is a proctored test?
A proctored test is a supervised exam where the supervisor ensures that all students are doing their work and following instructions. The “proctor” monitors the student’s work and ensures it is not being compromised or copied by another student.
They can be administered online, in person, or remotely. Proctored testing is designed to prevent any form of cheating on the exam and sometimes only allows one examinee at a time for security purposes.
The main purpose of having someone monitor your content and thoughts during the exam is to ensure that no one cheats by providing outside assistance or using materials not allowed on exams. This process can also help students who have difficulty following directions and staying focused because they are nervous about taking tests.
